How would you describe your approach to design?

Art — in all forms — is a conversation between the artist and the audience. It’s the conveying of an idea, a concept, a feeling, a thought — and the acknowledgement of that thing. As a storyteller across many mediums, I endeavor to design experiences that are a collaboration — a conversation — between the designer and the user.

What exactly is a “creative designer?”

A creative designer is an artist who has expertise across multiple fields and in various mediums. While I confidently describe myself as a storyteller above all things, it’s through multiple disciplines that I craft these stories. My skill kits include:

• Graphic Design (with an emphasis on Layout Design)

• Character Illustration

• 2D Character and SFX Animation (games)

• Visual Design

• Project Planning and Team Management

What is your “why?”

I want to create things that empower others. I want to build tools and design systems and craft stories that other humans can use on the journeys, be they journeys of learning, discovery, healing, or as creators themselves.

If you are here, it’s because you believe you are looking for a designer. But I have to ask: “Why are you looking for x role?” Are you looking for a graphic designer who can capture the story of your brand through visuals? Are you looking for an art director because you need a captain to provide mentorship and empathy to your crew? Consider this: what is it in my portfolio, or any portfolio, that you’re looking for? Look past the pretty, and find the function. Find the purpose. Does it align with your why?
